The Webster City Community Theatrehas movedinto the 21st century by replacing it's analog lighting to a digital system.
"We have had our analog system from the late 1980s," theater member Bill Greenley said. "We received a new digital board, lights, dimmers and a controller from a Des Moines metro high school."
Every stage light is now individually controllable, which allows for more flexibility.
"We purchased 40 new light fixtures, which include top and back lights," Greenley said. "Scene lighting will be better during performances."
Auditorium lights can now be controlled inside the seating area, which will be easier for house management and other events in the theater, such as recitals and presentations, he said.
The conversion of the lighting equipment to a digital system is an on-going process, and will be done before WCCT's next show, "The Phantom Tollbooth." Funding for the system came from grants, ticket sales and donations.
"We want people to know that there are other opportunities than just on the stage at the theater," Greenley said. "WCCT is always looking forvolunteers to help out with technical support."
